Easter course with Gen Jigme
Heart of Wisdom

21st-23rd March 2008
In the Heart Sutra, Buddha said “Form is empty; emptiness is form. Emptiness is not other than form; form also is not other than emptiness.” In these lines, he describes how the things we normally see do not exist, yet, like objects seen in a dream, things appear and function. By gaining the profound wisdom that realizes these two truths - and how they are not separate or contradictory - we can liberate ourselves and others from the mental chains of our ignorance and negativity, and lead all living beings to the profound attainment of complete liberation from suffering.

Strength & Stability

28th-30th November 2008
Faith is the foundation of the spiritual path. Without it, or mind is weak and our spiritual practice is unstable and easily obstructed by doubts and difficult circumstances. Through developing deep faith and relying sincerely on our Spiritual Guide, and going for refuge from the depths of our heart to the Three Jewels of Buddhist Refuge - Buddha, Dharma and Sangha - we can develop a strong and stable spiritual practice that can never be shaken by doubts and discouragement.

New Year course with Gen Jigme
Living Compassion
with Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony & 24-hour Tara Chanting

28th-31st December 2008
A Bodhisattva is a person who has dedicated their life to helping others, following the spiritual path to enlightenment for their sake. There is no more meaningful, compassionate or beneficial way to live than to follow the Bodhisattva’s way of life. Kadampa Buddhism teaches how we can do this right now, even in our busy lives, and become modern-day Bodhisattvas, the embodiment of living compassion. This New Year course includes a special opportunity to formally take the Bodhisattva Vow, and ends with Tara Chanting - a beautiful way to end the year and welcome in 2009!
